There was a time in my life when I was afraid of my greatness. As a 12 year old, I stood 5’8″ and wore a size 10 shoe. Not easy!!! I had been told I was too tall, I was too smart for my own good, too talkative, too too. You get it! That was many moons ago.

But even then, I pushed through and with support from my Mary (who literally encouraged me to be all of who I was even sassy as long as I was respectful and honest), my Pop Pop, and my Mom. I only dreamed that being daring, fearless, grounded and bold would yield all of the blessings, experiences and even challenges that it has. Even more, I’m grateful that my experiences can be and are a source of inspiration to and for others.

As you go into this brand new week, shed any and all self-doubt, put the naysayers on mute, adjust your crown (or turban) and step into this day with your head held high and spirit focused. Today, commit to affirming your power.
Take a few moments to reflect on your journey. Consider a time when you felt defeated but then found power in yourself. Focus on the energy and the positivity of moving beyond the heartbreak, struggle or hardship. Recall how triumphant you felt. With your intention set on your divine power, create a mantra, finishing it with a “I will… ” statement.

Mine is: I am powerful. I am confident and my gifts are meant to be shared with the world. My ancestors believed in me, and so I know I am great.
I will use all of my strengths, talents, triumphs and lessons to purposefully live and empower others

Write yours down. Then find a mirror and recite it to yourself whenever you need a #beautyfullreminder. You got this!
