I am 29 and living on…the best coast! Los Angeles!

I was born and raised in…Detroit and I am proud of it.

Professionally…I’m a style blogger, brand consultant and FullSizeRender-6swimwear designer who brings body positivity into every aspect of my career.

I was inspired to do what I do because…I am passionate about fashion and knew there was a big void when it came to young, plus size women who love trends. I started my blog in 2008 as a hobby and had no idea it would eventually turn into a full-time job.

I’m committed to…showing the world that women can be stylish and confident at any and every size and pushing for more options in the fashion world for women above a size 14.

Most of my inspo comes from…the internet! I love browsing street style blogs, Tumblr, etc. to see what people of all walks of life are wearing.

My personal style…is a mix — a little runway and a little street style.

Right now I’m loving…

I look up to…Beyonce. She is the ultimate icon because she makes everything look effortless when in actuality she is the hardest working woman in the business. She focuses on the work!

Download…How to Write a Movie in 21 Days by Viki King if you have dreams of eventually writing and directing a film like I do. The last book I read was I Can’t Believe It’s Not Better by my friend Monica Heisey.

I speak up about…inequality, especially on Twitter — that’s kind of my platform of choice when it comes to being vocal. I want more people to understand intersectionality and how marginalized identities overlap. I also think, in general, visual representation is extremely important. Some people consider it vain, but I think sharing photos in outfits empowers other women. It allows them to see someone who reflects and relates to them looking stylish and living their best life.

In 10 years…I hope it’s normal to walk into a mall and have more than one or two stores that carry “plus” sizes. That will mean we started a movement that had an impact. On a personal level, I hope I’m happy and healthy. I don’t plan my life because I think it will unfold itself in the right way, as long as I’m doing what I love.

Friday nights are for…hanging out with my boyfriend and watching TV. Or I could be out to dinner with friends or at their house having drinks and talking feminism. I’m a homebody. You won’t catch me out at a bar or club unless it’s a really special occasion, and even then I usually can’t wait to get home.

My favorite destination…is Florence, Italy. My next stops are Greece, India and Japan!

My anthem du jour…”Formation”, of course! It makes me feel proud and ready to take on the world.
